Author/Editor/Content Marketer

AN OVERVIEW OF MY BACKGROUND

I’m currently working on a sci-fi novel with a 5-year plan for completion as well as an autobiography which ties in theories of psychology, sociology, and philosophy with no set completion date.

I have always been passionate about writing and have not only pursued it as a hobby but have incorporated into my various positions to drive results for many of the agencies and clients for whom I have worked. I am adept at providing engaging content that tells a story or provides immediate value, to enhance the positive attributes of a brand as well as the services or products for which they offer, drive users to a point of conversion, & effectively represent their competitive advantage in their market.

FULL-TIME AND FREELANCE WRITING EXAMPLES

Please note that some pieces may be ghostwritten or have authors changed after the fact. Due to confidentiality, I’m unable to say which ones have actually been written by me. I feature the ones only that have my name attached, that I played in an Editor in Chief function, or that I have been given permission to mention.

Edstutia

As the Head of Marketing, Product & Analytics for Edstutia, I supervise our contracted content writers. Here are some of the pieces we have published:

Traklife Emerge

For Fall 2021, I took a step away from product management, operations and data analysis at Traklife to stand up the content department at Traklife Emerge — a new platform for artists, entertainment professionals, and creatives to network and develop their skills — with processes, editorial and style guides, and management of the first internship cohort for the department. We interviewed several people across my network who were industry professionals to complement our own original research. Here are some of the pieces my team turned out under my supervision and leadership:

Octiive

From November 2018 to October 2019, I worked for an online music distribution network/platform as the Director of Marketing. Some pieces were written directly by me and others I played more in a role as Editor in Chief.

Here are the pieces for which I was involved:

These two links to pieces have since been removed:

KlientBoost

From February 2017 – June 2018, I was employed as Content Manager. Meaning, even though only the pieces below were written directly by me, I decided topics, editorial guidelines and reviewed any other pieces that we’re written during that time. The aim was to have a team of experts share their expertise — so all team members were required to write at least one piece per quarter.

The below links to pieces I wrote & researched in full myself (many of which since my employment have been removed from the website or updated with others as authors):

PacificCoachways.com

This was a client of mine while at McClain Concepts. I helped in redesigning the website, which since has not been upkept — so please don’t use as a clear representation of my skills — and writing blog posts.

For context, the goal was to make it not just about transporation service or the destination but from start of the trip to the event and back again, making it a full experience for the customers/riders. Some of the pieces I managed the writing of are below:

CreativeDynamixInk.com

I worked for a start-up creative marketing agency for a short time as its Supervisor of MarCom until they lacked the funding to keep me on. This was a ghostwritten piece during my time there that has since been removed due to the site going offline:

Digital Thought Leadership – Top 10 Resources

Here was the context of the piece:

Developing thought leadership content that is informative and engaging is only a first step. Discover the channels you have available to showcase your expertise and gain credibility with your target audience.

LocalSplash.com

I worked at a SEO agency in Costa Mesa as a contracted MarCom Specialist, and these were a few of the pieces I wrote when I was employed:

BeyondFifteen.com

I worked for a PR agency in Irvine as a PR Coordinator, and these were a few of the pieces I wrote when I was employed:

MoreYellow.com

I worked for a creative agency in San Juan Capistrano as their Social Media Manager, and this was a piece I wrote when I was employed:

Using Social Media to Help Create the Big Idea

At MoreYellow, we focus on connecting digital pieces to tell a brand story based on a concept we know will resonate with an audience. But before we can get to the big idea, we use social insights to help guide the initial concept. So here are a few key social media tools you can use to help lead you in the right direction.

HOWWW.com

This was a client of mine while I was working at MoreYellow. They would feature motion graphics work and creative efforts that could be voted on by a team of experts. These were a few of the projects for which I researched and covered:

MAXX12, LLC

I worked for a band called MAXX12 as a Publicity & PR Coordinator. These were a few of the pieces I wrote for them while employed:

AdEspresso

I picked up a freelance one-off gig with AdEspresso, a well-known player in the social media ad space, to write this piece below:

The 10 Best Facebook Ad Campaigns That Killed It In 2017

Note: This post is no longer up since been replaced for a more updated piece written by another writer.

Here was the context of the post:

When it comes to Facebook ad campaigns, what truly defines success? It really depends on your goals: brand awareness, driving traffic, more conversions or sales.
